ChildSafeNet at Nepal Internet Governance Forum 2019
ChildSafeNet president Anil Raghuvanshi participated as a Child Online Protection panel speaker at the Nepal IGF 2019 on 28 September 2019. Highlighting the importance of multi-sectoral roles in protecting children and young people online, ChildSafeNet appealed the government, ISPs, UN agencies, INGOs, schools & colleges, social media & IT companies as well as parents to invest in making the internet safer.
Shishir Kumar Yadav (ICT lawyer) moderated the panel. Amrita Khakurel (Sr Engineer, Nepal Telecom), Nabinda Aryal (SSP, Central Cyber Bureau) and Kamala Adhikari (mother and cyber safety enthusiast) also contributed as the panelists. Shruti Moghe (Facebook Policy Programmes Manager, India and South Asia) also participated as a panelist through video conference.
The third edition of the Nepal Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was conducted in Kathmandu, Nepal on 27 and 28 September 2019. The Nepal IGF is a national initiative of Internet Governance Forum with the overall concept of multi-stakeholder involvement and internet for development and growth.
